On Monday, November 5 –the night before election day- Katrina Brabham and Robert Piemme spoke at the Management of Environmental Non-Profit Organizations class at the Space Resource Coordination Center of the University of Pittsburgh.
They were invited by the professor, Mr. Ward Allebach, to discuss the Green Party in the context of its organizational structure and environmental activities.
Both Katrina and Robert were introduced to the class and each student
briefly said their name and where they were from.
Katrina and Robert both shared their own experiences as Green Party officers and the local activities of the Party. Robert quickly touched on the global history of the Greens and Katrina shared ballot access and fundraising efforts.
Throughout their presentation students were free to ask questions and they did. Almost every student asked at least one question. Questions about how the party was organized, how it raised and spent money, party outreach, event planning and party building were asked. Students also asked about ballot access and campaigns and how the party handles these as a non-profit eco-organization.
“I enjoyed speaking at the class,” said Katrina, “I hope we are invited back again.”
In 2011 Titus North and Robert Piemme spoke at the class.
We post news from our local, but also from the state and national party too! Check us out. Come back often.
